MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Hi, I’m Mike Munroe
I created the Vancouver Island Visual Archive (VIVA) to document the place I call home. This archive is a commitment to the slow, the quiet, and the enduring. My goal is to capture the atmosphere of the this place exactly as it feels to experience.
I don't see myself as a traditional photographer as much as a witness. My work focuses on the the silent corners, where the wild still holds ground. Every image here is a conversation between the land and the light, a record of a place that is as fragile as it is resilient.
